Basic Safety Primer

Welcome! This course is a basic primer on the universal rules of firearm safety. At Citizens Safety Academy, we believe safety should be the top priority of any person who owns, uses, carries, or might ever come in contact with a firearm. We created this short online tutorial so anyone who wants to learn the keys to firearm safety can do so – at any time, from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, free of charge.

This course is also part of the first lesson of our main course: CCP Express. If you’re thinking about taking CCP Express to satisfy the training requirement for your Tennessee Concealed Carry permit, this free primer offers a good example of what to expect in the full course. Note that the Basic Safety Primer alone does not satisfy the training requirements for a handgun carry permit.
