Privacy Policy
Nobody wants personal information sold off to the highest bidder. At Citizens Safety Academy (“CSA”), we appreciate the trust you’re placing in us, and we take your privacy very seriously. Our privacy policy is explained below. By enrolling in any of our courses, you agree to this policy. If you have any questions, please email us.
When you register on our site or enroll in a course, we collect and store the personal information you provide in your user profile. We also retain any information you submit to us via the message form on our “Contact Us” page. We retain that data indefinitely. You can edit or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). CSA’s web administrators can view the profile data you submit. We will never share your data or with anyone or any entity outside of CSA, except as required to process your payments, to build your profile and account, or to comply with a court order.
If you already have a WordPress account, your information may be automatically sent to and synchronized with the Gravatar service. That’s what generates the profile picture that shows on your profile page (if any). Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
We also submit payment information as required to process your course tuition payment. We use Paypal and Stripe to process payments, and we keep records of those transactions. Paypal’s privacy policy can be found at https://www.paypal.com/va/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full, and Stripe’s privacy policy can be found at https://stripe.com/privacy.
If you enter any data on our site (including when you input your login credentials), that data might be temporarily captured in little computer files called “cookies.” That’s designed for your convenience, so you won’t have to fill in your details over and over again. Depending on the feature, page, or post, cookies might be retained for a minute or two, or they might last several weeks; but they will always expire.
Some cookies are set by your browser and completely beyond our control. You can modify your browser’s cookie management in the browser settings options.
Pages and posts on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
You can contact us at any time to request that your entire account be deleted. If so, we will permanently erase all data we’ve collected from you, and neither you nor we will have any further access to it. This includes all your prior course content, quiz results, and earned certificates.
We’ve installed reasonable security measures within our content management software and through our web hosting provider. Users are responsible for safeguarding their passwords and selecting strong passwords when creating accounts here on our site.
